Catalyst has been years in the making as two different congregations sensed God leading them in the same direction.  In 2001, Jeff Christopherson led a team that planted the Sanctuary Church of Oakville.  Over the following 21 years, the Sanctuary planted six daughter churches and grew to a size of more than 400 people.  One of the Sanctuary's daughter churches was Starting Point Church in Burlington which launched in February 2013.  Mike Hauser led a team of nine people that soon was reaching more than 100 people in weekly attendance. Although many things changed in both churches over the years ahead, God was faithful and brought them together in 2021 to explore what it might look like to work together towards the shared vision and strategy that you see on this website.  It has taken us more than two years of praying, planning, testing, and tinkering to present everything you see here.  

 

Together, Starting Point Church and the Sanctuary Church have a launch team of 50 committed believers, and we couldn't be more excited to meet like minded Christ followers in Oakville, Burlington, and across Southern Ontario that want to participate in this new story that God is inviting us into.
